God says... 'not with your strengh, but with my power!' He has power to change! Just give him a chance to make you a new man, a new mu'min! Praise Allah for his almighty works!

TO BE MUMIN
Our subject is: to be mu’min. Society has held a false opinion about being a mu’min. In fact, it seems they are right. The words mu’min and iman come from the same root. Iman means belief, and so, mu’min means believer. If you accept the meaning in the dictionary, everyone who believes in Allah with the standards of mu’min should go to heaven. People think this, and they make a mistake. They say: “I believe in Allah. Iman means belief, and mu’min is the owner of belief (believer). I’m the owner of iman. So, I’m a mu’min.”
But, in the Holy Qur’ân Allah Almighty calls the ones who wish to reach Allah among the believers as mu’min. His statement is clear and certain. “Mu’mins go to heaven. The ones who are not mu’min go to hell.” It is impossible for one to go to heaven unless he wishes to reach Allah. Otherwise, Allah doesn’t accept him as mu’min.
To be mu’min according to Allah contains the characteristics of both believing in Allah and wishing to reach Allah. Someone who believes in Allah can’t go to heaven thinking that he only believes in Allah. This person must absolutely wish to reach Allah to go to heaven. This wish must come directly from the heart, not just by saying, “Oh Rab,I wish to reach you.”
We see a different content when we look at the basic conditions of being mu’min.
You must:
Believe in Allah.
Believe that the human spirit reaches Allah before death.
Believe that this is obligatory for you.
Believe certainly that you will reach Allah if you wish to reach Him, because of His promise.
Anyone who has these conditions is the one who wishes to reach Allah, and he is the owner of hushu at the same time. Allah Almighty approves such a person at this level as the owner of hushu. Here are the 45th and 46th verses of Bakara Surah:
2/BAKARA-45: Vesteînû bis sabri ves salât(sâlâti), ve innehâ le kebîratun illâ alel hâşiîn(hâşiîne).
Seek ((Allah)'s) ISTIANE (help) with patient perseverance and prayer. It (asking Allah through the Requirement Prayer about the Religious Guide who takes one to Allah) is indeed hard, except to those who have HUSHU (reverence).
It is a difficult thing for those who don’t wish to reach Allah to seek help, namely to seek the murshid, with patience and prayer (hacet prayer), except to those who have hushu. Who are the owners of hushu? Allah Almighty says: “They are those who believe certainly that they are to meet Allah (this means, to make the spirit reach Allah before death). And they believe certainly that their spirit will return Allah again after death.
One who has hushu is someone who believes that he will definitely make his spirit reach Allah. He is the one who will wish to reach Allah. Allah Almighty shows the murshid to the ones who have hushu.
So, at the beginning, he needs to wish to reach Allah. When we look at the contents of this wish, we come face to face with the invitation of Allah:
Invitation to wish to reach Allah.
Invitation to reach Allah.
First, Allah Almighty invites everyone to wish to reach Allah, and Allah gives him furkans, and he becomes mu’min with these furkans. Allah Almighty accepts the ones who wish to reach Him as mu’min. Such mu’mins are usually described with the word âmenû. The word âmenû contains two kinds of mu’min.
People who believe in Allah are âmenû. But, they are not mu’min unless they wish to reach Allah. The word âmenû contains both the ones who wish and who don’t wish to reach Allah.
Allah Almighty says in Enfal Surah, the 29th verse:
8/ENFAL-29: Yâ eyyuhellezîne âmenû in tettekullâhe yec’al lekum furkânen ve yukeffir ankum seyyiâtikum ve yagfir lekum, vallâhu zul fadlil azîm(azîmi).
O you who are AMENU (those who wish to reach Allah spiritually before death and to submit to Him)! If you have taqwa (piety) towards Allah, He will grant you a FURQAN (the ability to distinguish the good (truth) from evil)! And He will cover up your sins and forgive you (change your sins into merits). And Allah is the Owner of the Great Virtue (Mighty Grace).
Here, the word âmenû (mu’min) expresses a person who believes in Allah but hasn’t wished to reach Allah yet. This person believes in Allah, but he is not a mu’min.
In Maide Surah, the 35th verse, Allah Almighty uses a different meaning.
5/MAİDE-35: Yâ eyyuhellezîne âmenûttekûllâhe vebtegû ileyhil vesîlete ve câhidû fî sebîlihi leallekum tuflihûn(tuflihûne).
O you who are AMENU (those who wish to reach Allah spiritually in this life before they die)! Have TAQWA (piety) for Allah and seek the means of approach unto Him. And strive hard in His cause so that you may prosper (get happiness).
“O âmenû ones, be the owners of takva.” If one is âmenû and wished to reach Allah, he is already the owner of takva. But, Allah is mentioning the second takva. “Be the owner of takva.” How can we be the owner of the second takva? By asking for the means to reach Allah. We perform hacet prayer and ask for the person who will be the means for us to reach Allah. So, the invitation here is an invitation to be âmenû the second time. This is an invitation at which point we reach the irshad post.
Allah Almighty says:
49/HUCURAT-14: Kâletil a’râbu âmennâ, kul lem tu’minû ve lâkin kûlû eslemnâ ve lemmâ yedhulil îmânu fî kulûbikum, ve in tutîullâhe ve resûlehu lâ yelitkum min a’mâlikum şey’â(şey’en), innallâhe gafûrun rahîm(rahîmun).
The Arabs said, "We are MUMINs (those among the believers of Allah who wish to reach Him)." (O My Beloved!) Say, "Do not say you have become MUMINs, but say 'We have entered (the circle of) ISLAM (submission),' for Faith has not entered (been written in) your hearts yet. But if you obey Allah and His Messenger, nothing will decrease out of your deeds. Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
It is possible for iman to enter one’s heart by his heart until his heart is unsealed, and this doesn’t happen with the person who doesn’t wish to reach Allah. To those who wish to reach Allah, Allah manifests with His Rahim Name. In Yusuf Surah, the 53rd verse, Yusuf (A.S) says:
12/YUSUF-53: Ve mâ uberriu nefsî, innen nefse le emmâretun bis sûı illâ mâ rahime rabbî, inne rabbî gafûrun rahîm(rahîmun).
"And I myself cannot cleanse my soul (ego) since the soul (ego) orders evil except (the souls) on which the mercy of my Lord manifests. Surely, my Lord is Oft- forgiving, (changes sins into merits) and Most Merciful (sends the light of Mercy, and purifies and cleanses the soul (ego) by His Mercy)."
One who wishes to reach Allah among the ones who were chosen at the second step (stage) climbs to the third step. He became âmenû. He wished to reach Allah. At the moment he wished it, Allah Almighty manifests with His Rahim Name. Because He hears, knows and sees this wish. As a result of this manifestation, Allahû Tealâ:
Removes hicab-ı mesture from the eyes.
Removes gisavet from the sight organ.
Removes vakra from the ears.
Unseals the hearing organ.
Unseals the heart.
Removes ekinnet from the heart.
Puts ihbat instead.
So, these make seven furkans. With the merits He gives with each of the seven furkans, the sins of this person are covered.
The degrees he gained are written in the record of the Book of Life. What happens? In this way, all his sins are covered. For this reson, his merits are more than his sins. If he dies after this point (this takes a maximum of seven seconds), he deserves to go to heaven. His sins are covered. Thus, his merits become more than his sins.
So, they are the ones who wish to reach Allah. Allah Almighty unseals their hearts. Iman hasn’t entered the heart yet. When he wishes to reach Allah, Allah Almighty removes ekinnet that prevents understanding from his heart and puts ihbat, and this makes him ascend to the level of being mu’min. Namely, iman enters his heart with the ihbat that Allah put. Before that, the heart was in blasphemy. At this point, Allah Almighty places iman in the heart. This is the the point when this person became mu’min for the second time. This person became mu’min when he wished to reach Allah. Because iman was written in his heart he is a guaranteed mu’min.
In fact, he became mu’min at the moment he wished to reach Allah. Here, he became mu’min a second time. What do we mean? There is a maximum of seven seconds between the wish of reaching Allah and the granting of seven furkans by Allah. Namely, it is as if no time elapsed. For this reason, the beginning and the end of the subject express the same thing. This person becomes âmenû at the moment he wishes to reach Allah. He has the state of being mu’min. This becomes stronger with the events that come true in seven seconds. They both coincide with a seven second time difference.
Allah Almighty says: “Before that, they were blasphemers (kafirs). They were like the dead in the graves. They were deaf, blind and dumb.”
35/FATIR-22: Ve mâ yestevîl ahyâu ve lel emvât(emvâtu), innallâhe yusmiu men yeşâ’(yeşâu), ve mâ ente bi musmiın men fîl kubûr(kubûri).
Those living and those dead are not alike. No doubt, Allah makes any that He wills hear (His invitation); but you cannot make those hear who are (buried) in graves.
27/NEML-80: İnneke lâ tusmiul mevtâ ve lâ tusmius summed duâe izâ vellev mudbirîn(mudbirîne).
Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf to hear the invitation (of Allah), as they flee, turning their backs.
Mu’mins are the ones who are not blind, deaf or dumb. This is the first stage of being mu’min. It forms between the third and seventh stages in a few seconds. This is to be mu’min the first time. What happens then? Allah reaches his heart, turns his heart’s nur (light) gate to Allah; He splits his chest and opens a nur way from his chest to his heart. Then, when this person makes zikir, Allah’s lights (nur) reach his heart, rahmet and fazl. Rahmet lights enter his heart, and 2% rahmet light settles in his heart. Then, he becomes the owner of hushu. This is the second hushu. The first hushu is the hushu of ones who believe in Allah without seeing Him. This is the point when he wished to reach Allah at the beginning. But, he becomes a mu’min whose iman increases at the 14th step.
Allah Almighty says: “We add faith (iman) to their faith. They became mu’mins whose faith increases.”
48/FETİH-4: Huvellezî enzeles sekînete fî kulûbil mu’minîne li yezdâdû îmânen mea îmânihim, ve lillahi cunûdus semâvâti vel ard(ardı), ve kânallâhu alîmen hakîmâ(hakîmen).
It is He Who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the MUMINs (those among the believers of Allah who wish to reach Him), that they may add faith to their faith. The Forces of the heavens and the earth belong to Allah. Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom;
8/ENFAL-2: İnnemel mu'minûnellezîne izâ zukirallâhu vecilet kulûbuhum ve izâ tuliyet aleyhim âyâtuhu zâdethum îmânen ve alâ rabbihim yetevekkelûn(yetevekkelûne).
The true MUMIN (those among the believers of Allah who wish to reach Him) are those who, when Allah is remembered and His name repeated, feel a tremor in their hearts; and when they hear His Verses rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and put (all) their trust in their Lord.
What kind of thing is this? This person requests his murshid at the 13th stage when he becomes the owner of hushu, and Allah Almighty absolutely shows him his murshid, and Allah makes him like his murshid. Allah makes you love your murshid. This is a love that Allah sends, not just his heart itself. And this person kneels down before his murshid and repents.
Operation 1: Iman (faith) is written in his heart. Blasphemy has already left when he wished to reach Allah. He became mu’min. To be the first mu’min concludes in seven seconds. To be mu’min a second time is the point where he reaches his murshid. He is a mu’min whose faith increases. Why? Because Allah Almighty writes iman in his heart.
58/MUCÂDELE-22: Lâ tecidu kavmen yu’minûne billâhi vel yevmil âhıri yuvâddûne men hâddallâhe ve resûlehu ve lev kânû âbâehum ev ebnâehum ev ihvânehum ev aşîretehum, ulâike ketebe fî kulûbihimul îmâne ve eyyedehum bi rûhin minh(minhu), ve yudhıluhum cennâtin tecrî min tahtihel enhâru hâlidîne fîhâ, radıyallâhu anhum ve radû anh(anhu), ulâike hizbullah(hizbullahi), e lâ inne hizballâhi humul muflihûn(muflihûne).
You will not find any people who have faith in Allah and the Last Day (before they die) loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. Faith is written in their hearts and supports them with a (trained) spirit (the settlement of the spirit of the Imam of the Age over the their heads) from Himself, and they will be put in Gardens beneath which Rivers flow; they will dwell therein forever. Allah is well pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party (supporters) of Allah. Truly it is the Party of Allah that will achieve salvation (Prosperity).
Operation 2: The spirit of the Imam of Age comes over their heads by Allah’s order.
Operation 3: The spirit of the Imam of Age orders his spirit: “Leave your body to reach Allah.”
40/MU'MİN-15: Refîud derecâti zul arş(arşi), yulkır rûha min emrihî alâ men yeşâu min ıbâdihî li yunzire yevmet telâk(telâkı).
Allah Who raises the ranks (degrees) and Who is the owner of the Throne sends a spirit (that will convey the command of Allah) by His Command onto any of His servants (the heads of His servants) He pleases (since he wishes to reach Allah, Allah also wishes to make him reach Himself) in order to warn (the spirit of that servant) of the Day to reach Allah.
Operation 4: Then, all of his sins turn into merits.
25/FURKAN-70: İllâ men tâbe ve âmene ve amile amelen sâlihan fe ulâike yubeddilullâhu seyyiâtihim hasenât(hasenâtin), ve kânallâhu gafûren rahîmâ(rahîmen).
Except those who repent (before a Murshid, the religious Guide), and become MUMIN (those among the believers of Allah who wish to reach Him) (since he has repented before a Murshid and faith has been written in his heart), and do improving righteous deeds (with the same reasons), for those Allah will change their sins into merits. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Operation 5: Before we were given 1 to 10, now we are given 1 to 100.
2/BAKARA-261: Meselullezîne yunfikûne emvâlehum fi sebîlillâhi ke meseli habbetin enbetet seb’a senâbile fî kulli sunbuletin mietu habbeh(habbetin), vallâhu yudaıfu li men yeşâ’(yeşâu), vallâhu vâsiun alîm(alîmun).
The state of those who spend their goods in the way of Allah is that of a grain of corn (seed) that grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah cares for all and He knows all things.
So, he becomes a mu’min whose faith increases because iman was written into his heart (14th stage).
At the 15th stage, by means of soul purification, 7% of fazl light accumulates in his soul’s heart, and thus his spirit reaches the first floor from the ground floor. He is at the Nefs-i Emmare. Then, when another 7% light accumulates, his spirit is at the second floor: Nefs-i Levvame. He blames his soul. Once more with 7% fazl accumulation, his spirit is at the third floor. He begins to take inspiration from Allah in Nefs-i Mulhime. Another 7% fazl accumulation and he enters the fourth floor. In Nefs-i Mutmaine, he is satisfied with what Allah gives him. This comes true with zikir. Only zikir can provide this.
13/RAD-28: Ellezîne âmenû ve tatmainnu kulûbuhum bi zikrillâh (zikrillâhi) e lâ bi zikrillâhi tatmainnul kulûb(kulûbu).
They are AMENU (those who wish to reach Allah in this life) and whose hearts find satisfaction in the dhikr of Allah (remembering and repeating the name of Allah). Hearts find satisfaction in the dhikr of Allah, do they not?
He comes to mutmaine at the fourth floor. He is satisfied with Allah at the fifth floor. At the sixth floor, Allah is satisfied with him and he reaches Allah and reaches Nefs-i Tezkiye. The spirit that is at the seventh floor passes seven worlds and through Sidret-ul Munteha with a vertical journey, reaches Allah and vanishes in Allah. This is the 21st step. Here, he becomes mu’min the third time, a mu’min who has reached Allah.
From the moment he wished to reach Allah, he is a saint. From the moment he wished to reach Allah, he is a mu’min. Before that, he believed in Allah, but he wasn’t a mu’min. To be a mu’min, one absolutely has to wish to reach Allah. It is impossible for one to enter Allah’s Heaven if he doesn’t wish to reach Allah. Infidels enter hell. Mu’mins are those who will enter Allah’s heaven.
So, at the 21st step the spirit reaches Allah. At the 22nd step he vanishes in Allah. At the 21st step, he becomes mu’min for the third time, a saint who reached Allah, a mu’min who reached Allah. Allah Almighty obligates us to wish to reach Allah (to be mu’min for the first time). He obligates us to reach our murshid (to be mu’min for the second time). He also obligates us to make our spirits reach Allah and to submit them (to be mu’min for the third time).
We become mu’min seven times. In the Holy Qur’ân, one can be a mu’min in seven stages. They are all obligatory for us. In every stage, we deserve the right to go to an upper heaven. One who wishes to reach Allah has the right to go to the first floor of heaven. One who reaches his murshid, and depends on him with twelve favors, deserves the second floor of heaven. Then, he reaches the third floor when our spirit reaches Allah. In every floor, we become an upper level mu’min.
Being a mu’min is guaranteed until this point. Allah Almighty says in Muzemmil Surah, the 8th verse.
73/MUZEMMİL-8: Vezkurisme rabbike ve tebettel ileyhi tebtîlâ(tebtîlen).
Do dhikr (remember and repeat the name of Allah) with the name of your Lord and turn to Him with complete devotion.
Allah Almighty says in the 39th verse of Nebe Surah that He is a shelter.
78/NEBE-39: Zâlikel yevmul hakk(hakku), fe men şâettehaze ilâ rabbihî meâbâ(meâben).
That Day (the day the pledge is taken by kissing the hand of the MURSHID (the religious guide)) is the Day of Allah. Those who wish (to reach Allah) take the path leading to Allah (Sirat-i Mustakim, the Straight Path to Allah). (Allah) will be a shelter (for the one who wishes to reach Allah).
In Al-i Imran Surah, the 14th verse, Allah Almighty says:
3/AL-İ İMRAN-14: Zuyyine lin nâsi hubbuş şehevâti minen nisâi vel benîne vel kanâtîril mukantarati minez zehebi vel fıddati vel haylil musevvemeti vel en’âmi vel hars(harsi), zâlike metâul hayâtid dunyâ, vallâhu indehu HUSNUL MEÂB(meâbi).
The love of desires, of women and sons and hoarded treasures of gold and silver and branded (well-bred) horses and cattle and well-tilled land, is made to seem beautiful to men; this is the provision (these are the comforts) of the life of this world. And Allah is the Best Shelter (Refuge) in His Presence.
Allah Almighty obligated us to make our spirits reach Allah. Mu’mins obey this obligation and make their spirits reach Allah. They are the ermis (saint) mu’mins. Then, Allah Almighty bestows a throne upon them according to En’am Surah, the 127th verse.
6/EN’AM-127: Lehum dârus selâmi inde rabbihim ve huve veliyyuhum bimâ kânû ya’melûn(ya’melûne).
For them will be a home of peace (home of submission) in the presence of their Lord. He (Allah) will be their friend because of their deeds.
The lights in his heart increase. He makes zikir more than half of a day. Then, he becomes zahid (reaches the zuhd post). When 81% light accumulates in his soul’s heart, he submits his physical body and becomes one of the muhsins. So, he becomes mu’min for the fourth time. When he submits his soul, he becomes mu’min the fifth time. When he reaches irshad, it is the sixth time to be mu’min, and when he submits his will, he becomes mu’min for the seventh time.
Here, iman turns into a verifying iman instead of an iman in which you don’t know about the unknown (gaybi). The day he takes his first jezbe, is the beginning of the verifying iman. He is aware that something, Allah, shakes his body from now on. He doesn’t shake himself, but a power comes and shakes him. This power is called jezbe by Allah. Most of the sahabe had jezbe. Gabriel (A.S) gave Our Prophet (PBUH) cezbe, and it passed to the sahabe from Our Prophet (PBUH).
If he doesn’t believe in Allah and doesn’t believe that He is not a source to be reached, he wouldn’t have to be a mu’min. Wishing to reach Allah is the absolute content of the subject.
At the 25th step, we submit our physical body, too. The physical body has an identity that obeys all the orders and prohibitions of Allah. Such a submission makes him reach the 4th level of mu’min.
He will increase his zikir. At the zuhd post, he makes zikir more than half of a day. No one can submit his physical body unless he reaches zikir more than half of a day. The submission of the physical body provides the fourth level of being mu’min.
Finally, he reaches continuous zikir. Then, the identity of Ayn’el Yakîn comes true. He owns the four features of continuous zikir by seeing with the heart’s eye and hearing with the heart’s ear given him by Allahû Tealâ:
He reaches continuous zikir.
No vice remains in his soul’s heart, because he reached continuous zikir,
Allah opens his heart’s eye.
Allah opens his heart’s ear.
He understands that a force designs this when he experiences it, and his faith to the Lord is at the utmost level of verifying faith. What is this? To see what Allah shows, to hear what Allah says.
He gets three qualities:
He becomes ehl-i tezekkur. He has the opportunity to talk to and discuss things with Allah.
He becomes ehl-i hayır because he is the owner of continuous zikir. Hayır are the functions that make us win positive degrees. Because he wins positive degrees continuously, he is in continuous hayır.
He becomes the owner of hikmet (wisdom). Allah Almighty gives hikmet to the one He wishes. Namely, if he deserves it, Allah gives him hikmet. The one Allah wished, had absolutely deserved what Allah had wished. Allah’s gifts are based on our capabilities. If we are capable, if we deserve it, Allah gives it, and we become the owner of hokum (hikmet, judgment).
At this point of verifying faith, he begins to see the seven floors of sky that Allah shows.
First, the seven floors of hell are shown to him. Then, the ground floor is shown. Here is the Ulûl’elbab post (the post of continuous zikir). Here, he becomes a person who had no vice in his soul’s heart. He is ulûl’elbab. After hell’s floors, he is shown the ground floor and the main dergâh there. And then, he is shown heaven’s floors by beginning from the first floor. This is a new point where he has another post. The name of this post is the ihlas post. His iman increases here one level more. Allah Almighty makes him an upper level of mu’min. He will be a mu’min at the fifth floor. Here, he submits his soul. Then, we come to the irshad point.
At this level, the heart becomes fourteen degrees of muzeyyen (embellished, ornamented). When we look at the standards of heart to be muzeyyen we see that they are parallel to being mu’min.
Allah Almighty says in Hucurat-7:
49/HUCURAT-7: Va’lemû enne fîkum resûlallâh(resûlallâhi), lev yutîukum fî kesîrin minel emri leanittum, ve lâkinnallâhe habbebe ileykumul îmâne ve zeyyenehu fî kulûbikum, ve kerrehe ileykumul kufre vel fusûka vel ısyân(ısyâne), ulâike humur râşidûn(râşidûne).
And know that among you is Allah’s Messenger. If he followed your way in most of the orders, you would certainly be cursed. But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful (with Faith) in your hearts (by gathering FAZLs (virtues) around the word Faith and filling the heart with light). And He has made Blasphemy, Rebellion and Disobedience hateful to you. They are those who have attained IRSHAD (the True Guidance to Allah).
Allah Almighty is talking about a man whose heart is made muzeyyen with iman. Here, his heart becomes muzeyyen in four levels. Here, he has the identity of “mu’min whom faith is written in his heart.” His heart becomes 19 degrees of muzeyyen.
When was iman (faith) written in his heart? At the 14th step. With the word iman that Allah puts in his heart, He makes his heart muzeyyen, and this makes him reach irshad.
After this point, by submitting his will to Allah, he becomes the owner of the irshad post. Allah Almighty expresses this point as:
3/AL-İ İMRAN-102: Yâ eyyuhellezîne âmenûttekullâhe hakka tukâtihî ve lâ temûtunne illâ ve entum muslimûn(muslimûne).
O you who are âmenû (who wish to reach Allah before death and to surrender to Him). Be the Possessors of Takvâ with the most care which is due to Him and do not die unless you are Muslims [those who have surrendered their spirits, physical bodies, souls and free wills (faculties of choice) to Allah].
Here, the submission is the submission of the will. Allah appoints the one to the irshad post from whom He takes his will. In Al-i Imran Surah, the 104th verse, Allah Almighty says for the sahabe:
3/AL-İ İMRAN-104: Veltekun minkum ummetun yed’ûne ilel hayri ve ye’murûne bil ma’rûfi ve yenhevne anil munker(munkeri), ve ulâike humul muflihûn(muflihûne).
Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong (helping people get rid of the vices in the hearts of their souls (ego). They are the ones who attain salvation.
Again in Al-i Imran Surah, the 110th verse, Allah Almighty orders:
3/AL-İ İMRAN-110: Kuntum hayra ummetin uhricet lin nâsi te’murûne bil ma’rûfi ve tenhevne anil munkeri ve tu’minûne billâh(billâhi), ve lev âmene ehlul kitâbi le kâne hayran lehum, minhumul mu’minûne ve ekseruhumul fâsikûn(fâsikûne).
You are the best nation that ever existed among humanity. You command people to good (MA’RUF) and prohibit them from evil (MUNKER; you help them get rid of the vices in their souls (ego)), and you have Faith in Allah. Had the People of the Book had faith, it would certainly have been better for them. Some of them are MUMIN, but most of them are FASIQ (in blasphemy).
So, beyond their evolution, the sahabe formed a group that serves to help the evolution of others. All of the sahabe were depended on. This is the submission of the will. Allah Almighty says for the sahabe in Tevbe Surah, the 100th verse:
9/TEVBE-100: Ves sâbikûnel evvelûne minel muhâcirîne vel ensâri vellezînettebeûhum bi ıhsânin radıyallâhu anhum ve radû anhu ve eadde lehum cennâtin tecrî tahtehel enhâru hâlidîne fîhâ ebedâ(ebeden), zâlikel fevzul azîm(azîmu).
It was the vanguard of Islam, SABIQUN-AL AWWALEEN (the ones in the first three ranks of those who were always ready to give and help for the cause of good deeds: ULUL ELBAB (to whom the secrets of Allah were revealed), IKHLAS (who have also submitted their souls (ego) to Allah), SALAH (who have attained the very last stage through their submissions)) some of whom were MUHAJIRs (who migrated from Mecca to Medina), some of whom were ANSARs (the helpers in Medina), and some of whom were those who depended on (followed) them (MUHAJIRs and ANSARs) (since SAHABA (disciples of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)) were of the IRSHAD POST (True Guidance, they were depended on (followed)). Allah is well pleased with them, as they are with Him. Allah has prepared for them the Gardens under which rivers flow, and they will dwell therein forever. That is the greatest reward.
As you can see, both ensar and muhacirin were depended on. Allah Almighty ordered in the 102nd verse of Al-i Imran Surah: “Be the owner of takva as the ones who have takva thoroughly (hakka tukatihi takva).” All of us are invited, ordered, to have bihakkın (real) takva. All sahabe have done this, and had the irshad post after Allah’s, “You are charged with and authorized with irshad,” order. Namely, they achieved a seventh degree of mu’min. The common characteristic of all religions is to make people reach the irshad post.
You should always ask Allah to go towards the highest. It is obligatory for you to have hakka tukatihi takva.
As you can see, the sahabe made people depend on them. It is certain that they had the irshad post and reached the highest point to be mu’min. When they previously were people whose hearts were in deep darkness, when in the past they were the servants of Satan, they all achieved to be the servants of Allah and became real mu’mins. Allah Almighty talks about mu’mins in Mu’min Surah, the 40th verse:
40/MU’MİN-40: Men amile seyyieten fe lâ yuczâ illâ mislehâ, ve men amile sâlihan min zekerin ev unsâ ve huve mu'minun fe ulâike yedhulûnel cennete yurzekûne fîhâ bi gayri hisâb(hisâbin).
"The one who does an evil (sin) will not be requited but by the like thereof. And those who do improving acts (to purify the soul (ego)) - whether men or women - are MUMINs (those among the believers of Allah who wish to reach Him). They will enter Paradise and they therein will have abundance without measure.
Allah Almighty says that He will put all mu’mins, whether they are men or women, in heaven.
All seven degrees of mu’mins are for heaven. They will all be in Allah’s heaven.
When we look at the standards of faith of the mu’mins, we see the following:
To believe in Allah.
To believe in Allah’s angels.
To believe in Allah’s Books.
To believe in Allah’s Prophets.
To believe in Yevm’il Ahir (the joining day of the spirit with Allah).
To believe that good (hayır) comes from Allah, and evil comes from our soul.
To believe that the human spirit reaches Allah before death.
If one doesn’t have these standards, he is not a mu’min. One who believes in six standards believes six factors of amentu.
The sixth factor of amentu doesn’t match with the Holy Qur’ân. They say that both good and evil come from Allah. No! Good is from Allah. Evil cannot come from Allah.
What are the meanings of good and evil? Good makes us win degrees, and evil makes us lose degrees. Good deeds (hasenat) make us win degrees. Sins (seyyiat) make us lose degrees.
Allah Almighty never makes us lose degrees, because of His Laws. One who loses degrees does so with his own will.
So, look at the content of iman carefully. Good comes from Allah. Evil is from our soul. Design your faith according to this.
